The aim of this course is to provide training for securing a load safely and providing an understanding to Drivers or Transport managers to their legal responsibilities for transporting a load on UK highways.
Using state of the art training aids, including practical hands-on experience enables the delegates to:
- Understand their responsibilities, complying with Road Traffic & Health & Safety Law
- Identify the causes of load shift & the forces acting on the load during transit
- Assess the load and the vehicle suitability
- Select the correct method of securing
- Direct & Frictional Lashing
- Choose the right number of lashings with the correct load rating
- Carryout a pre-use check of chain & web lashing using inspection checklists
