This remote learning and examination option for the Ladders and Stepladders for Managers course has been created to allow delegates to gain and develop the required knowledge outside of the classroom.
Ladder Association courses are recognised by The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) as the leading safety training when working with Ladders. The training and examination for this course will be delivered remotely via Microsoft Teams, but will follow the same curriculum as the classroom course and the same standard of training will be delivered, meeting all Scheme Rules.
Delegates will:
- Learn about current legislation, regulations and guidance affecting work at height using Ladders, Stepladders and Step Stools
- Understand that they must resource work so it may be completed safely and efficiently
- Learn the difference between pre-use and formal inspections
- Understand the difference between maintenance, repairs and who is allowed to carry these out
- Learn the correct methods of disposal of equipment

Any person who has responsibility for overseeing the work of operatives on site, ensuring that work is properly planned and organised and that those involved carrying out the work are competent and properly trained, and that ladders, Stepladders and Step Stools are correctly inspected and maintained.
Virtual Classroom
This course will be delivered via video conferencing using Microsoft Teams Virtual Classroom. This allows two-way communication, ensuring the course is interactive with delegates having the opportunity to ask questions. Each delegate in attendance must have a webcam and microphone, to provide evidence of identity and the ability to answer all examination questions. Theory test is an open book assessment with a pass mark of 80%, however please note the use of mobile phones is not permitted.
