Pre-Requisites
Delegates are required to have previously completed the Emergency Lighting Part 1: Design course.
Aims
This 1-day course enables delegates to further develop the knowledge and skills learnt from the Emergency Lighting Part 1 course, including servicing & maintenance of the emergency lighting system. Delegates will learn to audit existing systems, provide advice on routine maintenance and to carry out periodic and remedial servicing. The course is based on BS 52661 a guidebook for emergency lighting.
Topics covered within the Emergency Lighting Part 2 course include:
- Legislative requirments for emergency lighting
- Relevant standards
- Installation considerations
- Reporting procedures for existing premises
- Testing considerations, function, and duration tests
- Testing procedures and the use of automatic systems
- Fault rectification
- Protection of the premises during fault rectification
- Completion of the testing documentation
