The aim of this course is to provide delegates with an introductory knowledge of low voltage electrical installations. This course has been designed to give delegates a greater understanding and ensure compliance with legislation. The course aims to build delegate competency and confidence when working with low voltage systems.
- Basic electrical theory (AC & DC).
- Dangers of electricity and means of safe isolation.
- Earthing systems and types of supply.
- Transformers & LV distribution.
- Motors, starters & control circuits.
- Generators & standby supplies.
- Circuit configurations & overcurrent protection.
- Introduction to inspection & testing.
This course is aimed at delegates who are current mechanical and electrical staff with a predominant mechanical background and who have, or who are about to be given, responsibility for work on low voltage (LV) electrical installations. It is recommended that delegates attend this course prior to any other electrical course.
